When I started to understand and internalized my biblical role as a wife and mother, my conviction was to be at home with my kids, parenting and teaching them while they are young.
"And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise." ~ Deuteronomy 6:6-7 ESV
I've been working even before graduating from college. I'm a very competitive person and very much output driven, a typical career woman. But God gave a new desire in my heart. After hearing testimonies from moms who gave up their corporate job and happily reaping the fruits of it, I started praying to God that He will also allow me to be at home to serve my husband and be intentional with the kids.

I am doing well at work. In fact, I'm enjoying my job and I love the people around me. But at home, I knew I’m neglecting my duty as a wife and as a mother. My boys are growing up too fast that I’m missing a big part of their life. Realizing that, I will leave home for work every day feeling guilty. I admit I am no supermom; I cannot be intentional if I’m not at home. I knew in my heart, I need to set the right priorities.

I told my husband about the idea of leaving my current post. At first, he didn't seem to buy the idea. But when our eldest son started showing defiance when we are not around, he started seeing the need of having a parent at home watching over the kids.

The idea seemed next to impossible with our current financial status. Quitting work means we are cutting a big chunk of our income, not to mention that I am earning more than what hubby is getting since I’m part of the Management team. Although we are planning to look for a home-based job for me, it will be lower than what I am getting.

During our church's prayer and fasting week last 2015, we prayed for our plan and also a promotion for hubby. God graciously answered our prayer last August 2015. Hubby was promoted as a Supervisor. The next thing we asked in prayer is for the right time to quit my job. I personally prayed that it will be the soonest. When hubby announced that I can submit my resignation by January 2016, it was another answered prayer. Praise God!

The timing is also perfect because my Auntie who has been taking care of our kids, is also planning to leave the first half of 2016 and we have no plans yet of having a replacement.

Last Day with the Team
I rendered my last day, February 29th since my boss requested for another month. It was a mixed emotion. Working for the company has been a wonderful experience. I feel privileged to have been part of such a professional team and will surely miss all my Air Liquide family. I appreciate both the professional and personal growth opportunities that have been provided to me during my time with the company.

Last Day with the Team

We knew this decision is a leap of faith, we do not know what lies ahead. This also means that we need to adjust our lifestyle. There are times that I tend to worry about our finances. But we put our trust in God who is sovereign and faithful. We knew there's a blessing in obedience and we are excited of what God has in store for us.

"Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you." ~ Psalm 9:10 NIV
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” ~ Joshua 1:9 NIV
