My First HMUA Experience

I volunteered as a Hair and Make-up Artist (HMUA) during the CCF Mass Wedding last December 02, 2017.

CCF Mass Wedding is a single ceremony where numerous couples are married simultaneously whose primary goal is to bring families closer to Jesus.

CCF Mass Wedding

Just a little bit of disclaimer here, I am NOT a pro when it comes to makeup. I just love putting some on my face during special occasions and learned basics from watching Youtube.

My husband volunteered for the Photo/Documentation and I was encouraged to do HMU because there was a need. I praise God because of His provision. I was able to use the makeup haul I got from Sephora, Beauty MNL, Lazada and other make-up giveaways from blogging. I'm so happy that I am able to use them for a greater purpose. A sister-in-Christ also lends her make-up kit to me which is a big help too.

I watched Youtube videos prior to the event to prepare myself. I did some practice despite the fact that putting makeup on yourself is way different from putting it on others. The truth is, I have no one to practice with because my kids are all boys. Haha.

So here's my muse:

Products used:

Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation in Natural Beige
Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Two Way Cake
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
Snoe What's Up Brow in Ochre
BYS Contour Trio 02 Sweet
Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
Lancome Lipgloss Orange
Maybelline Hyper Ink Liquid Liner

Phew! You know I realized, it is not easy being a Make-up Artist. It's really a skill, so kudos to all HMUA out there!

Overall, It was a pleasant experience and I am so privileged to be part of this event. To witness these couples saying "Yes" to the Lord in marriage is a priceless moment. One other good thing was, I was able to encourage my Sister to volunteer and one of my small group downlines, for which I am so grateful. I am not sure though if I'll be doing this again next year, but I'm very much willing. I also want to improve on this craft by practicing and hopefully, I can attend make-up classes in the future. It is my joy to serve the Lord in whatever capacity possible.
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."~ 1 Peter 4:10
