7 Years of Homeschooling

7 Years of Homeschooling

I'm kind of late when it comes to preparing for this homeschool year. There's just so much going on in our everyday lives despite the pandemic. I've been so busy at home with the kids, doing chores, managing social media accounts, and assisting hubby with our small woodworking business.

Books and materials are hard to get these days as everything should be done online and the cost of the shipping is costly. But still, I'm grateful to God for His provision for this year. He never fails!

I did less printing this year because we were able to acquire a secondhand kindle reader, praise God! So, I let my eldest transfer some ebook and pdf files on it.

This year, I have an AO Year 1/Grade 1 and AO Year 6/Grade 8. My eldest is currently enrolled in an online Alternative Learning System prior to the pandemic and is still working on his modules every now and then.

This year, I prefer keeping the same schedule as the previous with some minor changes. So, this is how it looks like:

We survived our first day by God's grace! I was so tempted to put it off because I feel like I am not yet ready. Thankfully, we were able to push through with it.

It's a whole new experience for me homeschooling two students while taking care of my one-year-old. But I rejoice in everyday small victories. We may not be able to stick with our schedule most of the time, but I am learning to embrace this season and to adapt to it.

Here is our First Day Photo with all the books we are going to read this year:

We ended our first day with a Milk Tea treat from my Nanay who was with us for a Cardio check-up. Our first week went on detour due to an unfortunate event. My Nanay was hospitalized and our regular schedule was disrupted. Nonetheless, I'm grateful to be able to serve my Nanay and be with her all throughout her hospitalization.

"God is good!" ~ Not just a statement but a reality of a life in Christ. In every season, God has been sooooo good to us! This is our Day 2 in the hospital and our Nanay is getting better. We rushed her in the ER yesterday due to chest pain. The doctor's initial finding is Unstable Angina ( a condition in which the heart doesn't get enough blood flow and oxygen) and they decided to put her in the ICU for monitoring since any moment it might lead to a heart attack (my Nanay also has hypertension). I thank God for the wisdom and guidance. She is ok now, no more chest pain. But her heart rate or BPM need to increase. Hopefully, the doctor will allow her to transfer to a regular room soon. Please continue to pray that my Nanay's heart beat will become normal and also protection against Covid-19 and other sicknesses. Your prayers are much appreciated. #HospitalMoments #NoKilay #NoHairStyling #FaithMask #Day2InTheHospital #ICU

Now that my Nanay is out of the hospital and is back in her home, we're also back to normal. Thus, our new journey has begun!

Here's a glimpse of our first week:
