I love how my kids make personal connections with the AO books we read, here are some of their narratives:
***
My son was taking a bath and striking the water. He said he is catching a fish because he is a Heron (the blue Heron from Burgess Bird).
***
My son was playing with coins as armies. He then screamed, "Wretched!".
***
My son got water to drink, lifted it up and say, "I'm gonna drink the funeral ale!".
***
We were looking at our male budgie who was puffing out its feathers and I said, "look!". Gabi said, "Some of the feathered folk boasts and strutted their feathers proudly".
***
While reading Pilgrim's Progress:
Gabi: Mom, I have a question, are we going to have books in heaven? Like AO books?
Mom: That I cannot tell, why?
Gabi: Because I want to read eh.
***
We were passing by Bacoor Bay and my 3 yo saw a boat. He blurted out, "Oh, it's paddle!".
***
Gael: Mom, it will rain because there's a west wind?
***
Gael: Mom, is that roundabout?
Mom: Yes.
Gael: Roundabout and roundabout and roundabout I go!
***
So there, I hope you enjoy. I look forward to more of these as we immerse into this rich curriculum.
