Hobbes and Landes: All Around the World in 10 Days

Last March 11, we were invited to a free trial art class in Hobbes and Landes, Bonifacio High Street. We attended the All Around the World in 10 Days.

Hobbes & Landes was born out of love for board games. It began with a small specialty store in July 2002 by the Pesengco and Sun Families.

They aim to be the place and destination for families of all ages who love nothing more than simply gathering together for wholesome fun over a good cup of coffee and great dessert. They strive to promote the lifestyle and values of learning, caring, relationship-building and inspiration through fun and discovery.

With gratitude to God, hardworking staff and loyal customers, they have now grown into a chain of 9 specialty lifestyle stores, 7 company owned and 2 under trademark and concept license. The flagship store is located at Bonifacio High Street in Fort Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

The workshop was held in one corner of the store. We were packed during that time but my kids don't seem to bother. They were excited! While waiting, they were provided with colored pens for free drawing. My little one was also encouraged to draw.

They started the class with a quick review on different continents before they tackled Africa, this day's  focus country.

Here are some fun facts discussed:

• Africa is the world’s second-largest continent 
• The longest river in the world is found in Africa, Nile River 
• Africans wear masks for rituals and ceremonies

Each kid was given a bare mask. They were to make their own designs, thru patterns and shapes. Then, they colored it using paints
  

The workshop lasted more than one hour and although it was a quick class, Gabi said he enjoyed it. Everyone was able to come up with their own unique designs.
