Be firm: Do not compromise

"Do not be misled: bad company corrupts good character." ~ 1 Corinthians 15:33

How do we recognize and respond to the people in our lives who may indeed be "bad company"?
Last Sunday, my husband was assigned to lead our Discipleship Group's devotion. The topic he chose was about being firmHe invited my son to give a testimony about how he stands firm with his faith and didn't allow bad influence to affect his decision of right and wrong. I am so blessed that he agreed given the short notice. We reminded him that what he will be doing is for the Lord. He made his testimony a few hours before we left home and this is his first time to give a testimony.

Let me share it with you:

Last Thursday, June 24, 2016
located at 121 MR. Flores Street Sto.Rosario Kanluran,
I lend my ball to my friend I told him,
"Ibigay mo yung bola paguwi namin sa Linggo
(which means, "Give the ball back to me once we come home on Sunday)...
but he didn't and the ball was with him
for Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 'till Friday (July 1).
Last week I ask for my ball, but they lied to me and said,
"Wala po" (which means, "We don't have it").
Friday, Mom and Jaden and I were outside.
I saw the ball and Mom told me to get the ball,
so I did what she told me so, and I ask for the ball
and they don't want to give the ball back to me and I prayed,
"Lord, please let the ball go to me, in Jesus' name, Amen".
So it did, it rolled towards me and I got the ball and throw it to my house
and locked the door for safety
and my friend say a bad word to me
but I ignored it and he kept saying this to me
but I ignored it thinking he's not there.
My realization is to stand for what is right even when others don't.
This is my testimony.

It is impossible to live a life that is unaffected by other people. Their attitudes and opinions - often influence our decisions. So what do we do about it?

"Once we’ve identified someone as a negative influence, the next step is to decide what to do about it. Broadly speaking, I think there are two important parts of our response. First, we need to decide how much to limit our exposure to the person in question. Second, we should seek the protective influence of healthy relationships with other believers and place ourselves under the influence of God’s Word and His Spirit." ~ Bible.org.

A week before, our Dgroup Leader asked who will lead the next devotion, I volunteered my hubby since he wasn't able to attend our fellowship for a long time due to the conflict in his schedule.  I offered help but hubby said he can handle it (whew!). I am so blessed to see both of them and I'm looking forward to more father-son tandem.

To God be the glory!
